Some world leading galleries can make incredible steps sometimes to have a masterpiece in their collection. Considering the price of those masterpieces, one question arises immediately: how the galleries are sponsored? If they get the funds from the local Government, another question comes in my mind: isn't it more humanistic and more useful to spend those funds for the economic situation improvement or for the hunger level reduction program in Africa, for example?
The London National Gallery needing 100 million pounds to have a piece of
canvas would rather take care about more important world things. Just think what can be done with this amount of money in Eastern Europe or in Asia. Think who would more benefit from this amount: poor people in Indian villages or the visitors of the Gallery having an aesthetic pleasure to see the picture?
